In the Classroom
This can be shown in the classroom so that students understand the Mayan Calandar the true story in a video format to generate further learning. Discussions can ensue based not only upon history, but on math number systems. The Mayans did not use a base 10 number system. Their religious and political beliefs can be discussed. The impact of the calandar upon their agriculture. Their water systems and choice of location for settlements, their understanding of the stars and their relationships to the rest of the galaxy, and even discussion on the technology used for the making of the video can be brought up.
